  1. This is a lovely idea, but I think the wine with glasses and corkscrew is a little strange. Your house isn't a B&B. If friends or family came to stay, won't they be socializing with you most of the time? I think it would be odd for them to say goodnight and head to their room to pop open a bottle of wine.

  2. I think it depends on who the guests are - if its my sister, then she would be with me most of the time. I just hosted some friends who had a lot of other people to visit and I had to work and stuff, so they were actually on their own a lot of the time. Especially when I was so tired I went to bed early and they stayed up till the wee hours gabbing.

  3. Gotcha ... I can see how that might work out sometimes. Thanks for clarifying.

  4. I used the stuff leftover from our wedding bathroom baskets. So we have in our two guest rooms baskets with the following: lotion, lint roller, band-aids, hair bands, gold bond powder, shout wipes, kleenex, gum, hair spray, wet wipes, mousse, scented body spray and (wedding gift, not in wedding baskets) massage oil. I wouldn't suggest getting all this since some of it may not be necessary, but since we had it all leftover, I decided to put it to use!

And I understand the wine thing. We're having guests stay for five days but they won't be hanging out with us more than one night. I'll probably set out some bottles of water for them, or sodas, especially since they'll be visiting with tons of other people during the days and evenings in Minneapolis.
